Orange Cinnamon Chip Cookies

Ingredients

3 & ¼ Cup Flour

2 Sticks of Room Temp. Butter

3 Tabls. Orange Zest

2 Large Egg

1 Teas. Baking soda

¼ Teas. Salt

½ Cup Cinnamon Choc Chips

¼ Cup of Craisins

2 Tabls. Orange Juice Fresh Squeezed.

Instructions

As an avid cookie baker, I have learned a few things 1, separate wet from dry 2, mix the egg in last and never use beaters (for chewier cookies) and 3, chill your dough before cooking. Some may disagree and to each their own, but these are my 3 secrets I live by.

Needless to say, I am not going to bore you with a written-out story on how to make a cookie and why these are so different. These are good and not your typical cookie, they will make people say hmmmmm…… what is that in these I taste?

I whipped these up about 3 times over the Holidays until I got them right, and boy oh boy are they tasty… or so says my Husband, so let’s get to it!

Mix the Butter, Sugar, and the Orange Zest & Juice into a bowl. (If you want a lightened Orange flavor you can use less zest)

Mix in another bowl the Flour, Baking Soda, Salt. Once combined add your wet ingredients and get it to a thick sticky consistency. Once this is done you can add in your Egg and mix it with a spoon to combine.

Finally add in your Craisins, and Cinnamon Chips (feel free to omit if you wish). Let the dough chill for at least 3 hours.

Roll into balls in the palm of your hand and dunk in sugar, place on a wax paper lined baking sheet.

Bake in a pre-heated oven at 350 degrees for 9-12 min depending on the Oven. I watch mine at 9 min. and wait until they have risen and look golden on the bottom. Take them out place on a cooling rack after 2-3 min. and let cool for about 10min before digging in.

Enjoy!!!
